Passionfruit & Strawberry Meets Dank Resin • Oregon's Modern Hazy Star

Strata came out of Oregon State University's breeding program in 2018 and earned a cult following almost overnight. Brewers reach for it when they want bright berry and passionfruit character layered over a distinctly dank, resinous base, a combination no single older variety delivers.

With alpha acids around 12%, Strata can bitter cleanly, but like most modern aroma hops it does its best work late in the boil and in the dry hop.

Usage Recommendations

For a 5-gallon batch, add Strata in the whirlpool below 180°F and again in the dry hop. It pairs well with Mosaic, Citra, and El Dorado, and it can carry a single-hop hazy on its own.
